ABOUT THE GUIDE

Sound is a living practice.

I’m Nick Gent, founder of The Mind Orchestra. I have spent more than twenty-five years making, recording and exploring music, and more than a decade helping people work directly with sound, voice, mantra, listening and imagination.

My approach has grown through lived practice: composing and improvising, teaching, working with the voice, recording in wild places, listening to plants through biofeedback, and exploring what becomes possible when sound is treated as a relationship rather than something we simply consume.

I am not here to give you another belief system or make you dependent on a teacher. My aim is to equip you with a practical toolkit of sound healing techniques shaped around you, simple enough to integrate into everyday life, while helping you remember and trust the innate wisdom already available through your own body, breath, voice and experience.

The work is empowering because it is experiential, and grounded because you can test it for yourself. The aim is to help you listen more closely, practise with confidence and trust what you discover.

You do not need to become someone else. This work is about remembering the instrument you already are, and learning how to play it with greater awareness.
